Submarine (2010)
Director: Richard Ayoade
This movie was quite interesting and entertaining in a wry way. I saw a lot of influence from other movies. For some reason, the soundtrack reminded me of the music from Godard’s Contempt. Warrants a watch! AND Alex Turner, lead singer of the Arctic Monkeys wrote some songs for the movie. Kind a cool
The Avengers (2012)
Director: Joss Whedon
YES! YES! YES! I mean to say, this movie is snazzy if you are into super heroes. Pretty funny and wicked cool action scenes. I think my favorite characters were The Hulk…Black Widow, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Thor, Loki, Captain America. :D SO COOL!

GOOD MOVIE, I will post about it soon.
Lost In Translation
Director: Sofia Coppola (2003)
I think this is one of my favorite movies. After I watched it, Sofia Coppola suddenly became a much admired director in my book. I think most people have seen this movie. Ethereal with a great soundtrack. WATCH! WATCH! WATCH!
The Place Promised In Our Early Days (2004)
Director: Makoto Shinkai
Same director who made 5 cm Per Second. Compared to that movie, this one is a little disconnected, but still riveting if not the story, than the visuals. Really fantastic animation. The plot is drawn out and thoughtful. I think it won an award. Worth a watch if you liked 5 cm Per Second.
The Muppets (2011)
Director: James Bobin
This movie will definitely be a treat for muppet fans. For a person with a passive interest in the muppets, it was still an entertaining movie. They broke the fourth wall A LOT, which is always awesome. Also, TONS of cameos from singers and stars. It was lighthearted and entertaining. Watch for funs!
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (2007)
Director: Julian Schnabel
Based on the story of Jean-Dominique Bauby, this is a really lovely and thoughtful and sad film about the strength of the human spirit. You should watch this…however, it is a foreign film, French.
Millennium Actress (2001)
Director: Satoshi Kon
This movie takes the format of “a play within a play” and goes crazy! It’s more like “several movies within a movie” and, in addition to this, it’s several movies that are entwined with memories. This movie is a bit complex, but really innovative with flashbacks. A really interesting, well-made movie, directed by the same man who brought us Paprika and Tokyo Godfathers. WATCCHH!
